About the Band

Tripswich Band 2008

Tripswitch tear up the metal rule book with gusto and rewrite it punctuating it with an array of influences and styles.

Crawling out of the depths of rural Lincolnshire, in England, JAMIE ARMSTRONG – Vocals, PETE BOTTERILL - Drums and Samples, SHAUN HODSON – Guitar, RICK WHITEHEAD - Guitar and STEVE DEARNLEY - Bass deliver a potent blend of angry metal and melodic dance-infused samples creating an infectious racket of the most modern proportions.

Their latest EP, ‘Until’, showcases the band’s skills, with top notch production which allows the listener to hear Tripswitch in all their sonic glory, and it comes beautifully packaged with glorious artwork that’s nearly as exciting as the band’s music.

Although cultivating their own unique sound, everybody has to be influenced by somebody, and Tripswitch are no different. They throw the likes of Tool, Slipknot, Iron Maiden, Dredg and Pendulum into the musical blender, mix them up and let the sonic pleasure that ensues loose on their fans' unsuspecting eardrums.

However, it's in the live arena where rock bands really come into their own, and Tripswitch are no exception. Their live show has already won them plaudits up and down the country and bagged them an impressive array of support slots, including gigs at Nottingham Rock City, Sheffield Corporation, Newcastle Trillians and Bradford Rio’s with the likes of Lostprophets, Skindred, Breed 77, Ghost of a Thousand, Earthtone 9 and Raging Speedhorn.

The band can also boast recording sessions with world renowned producer Andy Sneap (Trivium, Killswitch Engage, Machine Head), which led to a feature on Sky’s Men and Motors and songs being playlisted on Total Rock, Extreme Radio and Music Choice.

However, a Proposed deal with Dutch independent label Seamiew was abandoned when they were bought out and integrated by global giant Sony. More trauma was to follow when vocalist Jamie, a former bare knuckle boxer, was arrested on suspicion of murder. Now things are beginning to look up again, with the release of ‘Until’, and in January, they became a five piece with founder member Rick moving to guitar, being replaced on bass by former Salem Justice and Divided By One’s Steve Dearnley, resulting in a fuller sound, a more confident direction and a renewed vigour and fire.

So far, reviews have been incredible for the new EP and it has even been given an official seal of approval from none other than the world leading adult actress ‘Belladonna’ who recently aired the entire EP on her radio show. Tripswitch are looking to the future with a large promotional run in progress with club promotion being handled by Andy Copping at ACP.

The band are currently scheduling appearances on cover mount CDs with Terrorizer, Metal Hammer and Rock Sound, and are available for any press/interviews etc as well as always looking for gigs.
